Just from the outset, it’s clear how much of this game is a blatant clone of Breath of the Wild. Except, maybe they’re a little too committed to following in Nintendo’s tracks… It’s no surprise then that others would start to learn some lessons from what BotW did so well and that seems to be exactly what Chinese based studio miHoYo has in mind with their latest game Genshin Impact.

It’s use of emergent gameplay systems and an open world that truly defined the “See that mountain? You can climb it” cliché that developers love to throw around. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was, surprisin g absolutely no-one, a huge hit when it released two years ago. Chinese developer miHoYo seems to have taken a little more than pure inspiration from Nintendo’s incredibly successful open-world experience.
